The High Commissioner launched UNHCR’s transformation in 2017 to adapt and improve the way we work together and with others and our ability to protect, empower and secure solutions for refugees, IDPs and stateless people.

UNHCR’s Strategic Directions 2022—2026 set out what we must do: Protect, Respond, Include, Empower and Solve – and deliver in the key focus areas. Our Transformation speaks to how we must change as an organization – becoming a more agile, more efficient, more inclusive and more collaborative UNHCR.

Our Transformation brings together UNHCR’s change initiatives within a common and coherent framework that encompasses all the changes taking place in our structures, our systems and the way we work together, with our partners and with the people and communities we work with and for.
